During this past week, students from all over the region traveled to Harrisonburg, Va., to participate in a four-day journalism camp at James Madison University. Roughly 75 students attended classes and participated in storytelling groups to report on local stories.
Instructors included advisers from Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia, and represented the university and k-12 levels.
After two days of instruction, the students traveled to Downtown Harrisonburg to gather quotes, photographs and video clips to tell stories of the local community. Click on the following link to see their work:
