Coffee Hound: The perfect coffee experience

For people in Harrisonburg looking for a getaway with their four-legged friend, plus a refreshing cup of joe, Coffee Hound is the place to go. With a rustic environment, creating a calming, productive workplace, Coffee Hound was voted ‘Best Coffee’ by the Daily News Record readers in 2019.

“I kinda frequent all of them, [coffee shops].” Andrea Cable, a recurring customer, said.  “I like the atmosphere.”

Another customer, Anjerika Wilmer, said it was her favorite spot in town.  “The staff is really nice,” Wilmer said.

Starting as a regular customer, Aaron Baughman would come to study, but got a job as a barista last June.

“My favorite drink is probably an Ethiopian medium roast,” Baughman said.

Wilmer said she prefers an Earl Gray tea, as she doesn’t drink coffee

Thereare also other drink options, such as hot chocolate, as well as sweet treats to enjoy.

And while the coffee shop is usually not busy, there are two times that are considered Coffee Hound’s ‘rush hours’: at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Even then, the rush isn’t chaotic enough to disrupt the environment.

“This is my favorite coffee shop in town,” Cable said.
