On Friday, Oct. 30, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association announced its News Crown finalists for 2015. Among the many outstanding publications from across the world, this list included four magazines from Virginia:

• The Bear Facts / lbssnews.com, Lake Braddock Secondary School, Burke, VA
• The Newsstreak / hhsmedia.com, Harrisonburg High School, Harrisonburg, VA
• The Royal News / trnwired.org, Prince George High School, Prince George, VA
• tjToday / tjtoday.org, Thomas Jefferson High School For Science And Technology, Alexandria, VA
